In My Mailbox (35)

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi @ The Story Siren. IMM is where book bloggers can share what they received, bought, borrowed, or traded in books. Umm... I hope that sentence was not confusing. Haha!

Regardless, I'm super excited with the books I got this week from the amazing people at Penguin! Thank you so much!

I wish there were 48 hours in a day! Then I would be able to read a lot more books than I am now. ;)

Okay so I guess no need to keep you waiting huh? You want either pictures or a vlog. You've probably already skipped my rambling I bet. Well here is the picture of awesome!

Won/ For Review:

Karma by Cathy Ostlere
Dreamland Social Club by Tara Altebrando

Wolfsbane by Andrea Cremer (with the cover change notice and Nightshade button).

P.S. I never really voiced my opinion on the cover change online before but I feel the need to now. Like most of you, I LOVE for series covers to match throughout the series. I LOVE the original Wolfsbane cover and I only LIKE the updated Wolfsbane cover. I love the original because it was light and shinny! The updated cover is just like every single book cover out there at the moment; which is dark. I'm also wondering if they are going to make the updated cover sparkle and shine like the Nightshade cover and also like the cover on the Wolfsbane ARC. Another thing to point out; what about the roughed up or ruffed up edges or whatever the correct term is for the edged paper. I love books that have this added special. Will they also be making the updated book version with this edges? I mean I don't care TOO much when it comes to changes because when it comes down to it all its the STORY inside the cover that matters most. And Andrea Cremer can write a darn good story!

I agree about the Wolfsbane cover. I was totally in love with it's original cover and couldn't wait for its release but now i'm not all too excited because of the cover change. I also agree about the shimmer and tattered pages, i hope they at least KEEP that when publishing the sequel.
However, I'm still looking forward to reading it, it's the story that counts not so much the cover.

I completely agree with you about the Wolfsbane cover. The new one isn't bad, but it's no where near as great and stand out as the original. Yay for you for getting an ARC, and an ARC with the original pretty cover!

I think those uneven edges are called deckle edges, but I'm not sure. I hope you enjoy your books!

I cannot believe that you have a copy of the original cover for 'Wolfsbane". Like countless others, I agree. The cover change wasn't the best idea that publisher's have had. I think this cover change will be more likely to effect the sales.

-Happy Reading! (Please come visit my IMM and leave a lovely comment: http://bit.ly/hSl8Ix )

Oooo! Wolfsbane! How exciting.

I agree, the original cover is prettier. Hopefully the new cover will look nice in person.
